Ensuring you relax in 4 star accredited country cottages set in the heart of the Preseli mountains of Pembrokeshire – that’s our business.
Just to be absolutely clear from the start…. you do not have to partake in any walking skills modules to be able to enjoy our country cottages! If you just want the accommodation and the facilities that’s fine by us.
4 Star Accommodation Overview
Tregynon Cottages lie in the middle of the Pembrokeshire Coastal National Park, high above the Gwaun Valley, in the foothills of the Preseli Mountains and they enjoy wonderful open views. All originally farm outbuildings, dating to the 16th century, they are of local stone construction and inside, although they have been fully modernised, they have kept much of their original character. They enjoy a warm, cosy and homely ambiance and a full central heating system provided by a newly installed renewable energy biomass heating and hot water system. All bedrooms have their private en-suites.
… And when you get to your bed you want to be able to sleep soundly and in comfort knowing that you are secure in your 2 feet thick walled surroundings and dream of what the next day holds for you.
The cottages are set in approximately one acre of land and consist of a three bedroom, two storey main residence (Dan Y Mynydd) which is lived in by Ian and Carol Pattinson – the owners – and two single storey cottages (Foxglove and Honeysuckle) which they rent out.
Foxglove and Honeysuckle have been internally modernised and furnished to the standard you would want and expect and they have been individually 4 Star accredited by Visit Wales. They enjoy private parking and sit within lawned grounds surrounded by countryside and farmland.
We know that more than anything else you, rightly, expect to receive a value for money experience during your holidays but you also recognise it is fair that you pay the right price for that experience. We believe that we have achieved the right balance and priced our cottages accordingly.
And we have also listened to what you want when you return from your day out. Regardless of whether you have had an energetic day’s walking, whether you have been sightseeing, relaxing by the coast or just sitting on a hill unwinding from your usual routine: you want the same things from your accommodation. You want to be able to sit in comfortable and warm surroundings and feel that you are completely free to make your own decisions about what to do next and when. At Tregynon Cottages we have worked hard to ensure that you remain in control and that you can make those decisions. You can:
- shower or bathe whenever you want to, knowing that there is plentiful hot water
- prepare your own meals in your own well-appointed kitchen
- consult our information pack for recommendations on where to eat out
- listen to music, watch some television or a DVD
- read a book or catch up on your e-mails (Superfast, unlimited wi-fi is available in both cottages)
- just sit in silence and soak in the atmosphere of your 500 year old surroundings
- feel that particular Welsh ambiance
- use the washing machine in your cottage
- use your own lockable drying area for walking kit
- sit outside in your own garden area with your own garden furniture.
We care hugely about what you want and we have worked hard to ensure that the cottages meet your expectation.
We have also thought carefully about what you don’t want! You don’t want hidden extras and so we are clear – all electricity and gas, water, towels, bedding, wi-fi (reasonable usage for browsing and reading e-mails) and the starter packs are included in the price. No hidden extra costs. And all of our advise to you during your stay is free! Please note that a change of bedding and towels will be available free of charge for those staying for more than one week. If you are staying for less than seven nights and require a change of bedding or new towels we will happily provide these but will ask for a small fee to cover the additional laundry.
There is ample private parking adjacent to the cottages.
We have taken the decision not to allow pets at Tregynon Cottages. The cottages are surrounded by farmland on which there are working dogs and in deference to the farmers we believe it is easier all-round to prohibit domestic pets. There are also a number of guests who have animal allergies and it is better to avoid discomfort to them.
Smoking is not permitted in the cottages.
