We had a really good time staying at Tregynon and would like to come back as soon as family and other commitments permit. We had forgotten the delights of Pembrokeshire and hope it will not be too long before we reacquaint ourselves with your cosy cottage and the delightful landscape.
We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and loved the cottage and Pembrokeshire. Thank you for helping make our summer break so memorable. It is great to know there is somewhere of such quality we can stay if we holiday in Pembrokeshire again, and we will certainly recommend your cottages to family and friends.
Lovely Cottage, well equipped and comfortable with everything you could ever wish for, with one exception. (There is no mobile phone network within about a mile ) however, the Wifi is excellent and is superfast. Cottage is about 4-5 miles from the main town and therefore is a bit of a drive everyday to get to the main roads, however, if you want peace, quiet and tranquility then you will not find a better place than this. It is an absolute gem, so glad we found it. Owners are really helpful and will ensure you get the most out of your stay. 10 out of 10. We will without doubt return.
Lovely hosts, cozy and clean cottage. The location in Gwaun valley is absolutely beautiful. A bit remote, but easy to get one’s bearings around the single track roads. Some walks can be started right on location, others you need a car to get to. We would recommend a car to get around anyway – that way one can take in all the beautiful spots around Pembrokeshire. Even the weather was ok as well!
Tregynon Cottages were clean, comfortable, ideally laid out (each of the two bedrooms had an adjoining bathroom) and equipped to a high standard. They are situated in beautiful peaceful countryside and the owners Ian and Carol were extremely welcoming and helpful in all respects. With their extensive knowledge of the area they made our visit so much more special as they recommended the sites of interest to us. Ian’s tour of the region was fabulous and very memorable. We definitely intend to return as there is so much more to explore in the surrounding area and we look forward to another guided tour by Ian.
Ian and Carol Pattinson gave us a very warm welcome. Ian’s local knowledge was very helpful. They gave us very useful hints and advice on the various points of interest in that part of the world. Would gladly recommend this cottage and the Pattinsons.
We all really enjoyed our stay at Honeysuckle Cottage and would recommend it to anyone. Ian and Carol couldn’t have been more helpful and pleasant. I would like to add, that if we ever do come back to Pembrokeshire, we would, almost certainly, come and stay there again. I will, of cause, recommend Honeysuckle Cottage to anyone I know who is thinking of visiting that area. Thank you once again for a wonderful holiday.
Ian and Carol, the owners of the cottages, were very welcoming and made it clear that they were there to make our holiday as enjoyable as possible and we felt nothing was too much trouble for them. The cottage was cosy, immaculate and had every convenience and was in a beautiful location.
A warm welcome from the owners upon arrival; the cottage was beautifully presented, clean, well appointed and had all the facilities promised.
It really is a superb location if you want a peaceful rural setting. While there were only two of us the cottage is well set out for 3 or 4 people in that both bedrooms have their own bathroom and the living/cooking area is in the middle so you wouldn’t be on top of each other. It is well equipped and the owners are friendly and helpful.
One day stood out most of all on our trip and that was our visit to Skomer Island, the land of the Manx Shearwater and Puffin! The trip was beautiful from start to finish, the island is just a short boat journey away from the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast, as soon as you arrive you’re greeted with bundles of Bluebells and Campions, which definitely gives the island a certain magic. We even saw Seals and a Porpoise on our trip! Thanks hugely for accompanying us as our guides for the day. It make it all that bit more special.
Just to say a huge thank you for the welcome and the practical support which contributed enormously to making our stay at Honeysuckle Cottage a most pleasant and enjoyable experience. The cottage was lovely – warm, welcoming, pleasantly furnished and well equipped. The location is beautiful with amazing scenery and access to so many interesting locations. We hope to return to explore more of the area. Thank you again.
This is a lovely cottage, in a very rural setting, a little haven for peace and quiet and communing with nature, near Newport and beautiful beaches and coastline. Excellent for walkers! The owners are a lovely couple, very obliging and caring, nothing too much trouble, they want you to be comfortable and to enjoy your holiday. Extremely knowledgeable re the area and where to visit.
We had a fabulous family holiday at Foxglove cottage. It is a very picturesque location and we felt very welcome by you both. The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped, it was spotlessly clean and was like a home from home. We will definitely book to stay again and would recommend it to anyone. Many thanks to you both for a wonderful holiday.
We very much enjoyed our stay at Foxglove and Ian and Carol gave us a very warm welcome and friendly send off. The cottage provided excellent accommodation and is ideal for walkers and those who want to explore the area. The map and drying room is an unusual but useful and thoughtful facility and Ian’s knowledge of the area meant we explored areas we probably would not have done. We would definitely recommend this cottage.
We found the cottage comfortable, spacious and well equipped. We are struggling to think of anything that could be better. We really appreciated the excellent washer/drier, gas cooker, the drying room and the bike shed. We enjoyed the outdoor space and hearing the sheep and cows, and the frequent tractor sightings went down well with Eric! The open ended bed (no foot board) and high ceilings were much appreciated by Andy, and we all loved the two bathrooms with big baths and super showers. We will happily recommend you to others and are considering returning.
It was also a great stroke of luck that Ian and his wife Carol have two lovely cottages that they rent so it made it very easy to leave each morning and begin my walk for the day since my guide’s house was only a few yards away. The Honeysuckle Cottage, where I stayed has absolutely everything you need — two comfortable bedrooms with en suite bathrooms — one with a large bathtub for soaking after a long day of walking and climbing hills. There’s also a living room, dining area, a washing machine, great WiFi and fully equipped kitchen. The cottages are in a beautiful rural area that’s incredibly peaceful and picturesque. Carol and Ian are excellent hosts. Tregynon Cottages are an absolutely ideal place to totally relax.
Our first visit to Wales and we absolutely enjoyed it. Ian and Carol made us feel very welcome and ensured we had everything we needed.
Lovely welcoming hosts, pretty cottage, well stocked (washing tabs etc), great for nearby beaches.
The owners were very kind and helped us when needed. We liked the cottage, because it was good. The surrounding is very beautiful.
Ian and Carol the owners are very friendly and we’re very accommodating. The cottage was lovely and clean. Well equipped and comfortable.
Lovely welcome from Ian and Carol on arrival at their beautiful cottage. Very impressed with all the facilities and the lovely area. Would recommend this cottage to others as so well-equipped and in a great location.
The first thing we noticed on arrival was the silence – wonderful!! We were very happy with the cottage and facilities and there was nothing we could think of to improve on. Must stress how much we loved the cottage and the layout is great with the lounge in the middle of the two bedrooms, giving each couple more privacy. We hope to return soon to visit Skomer and explore the Preseli Hills. Thank you once again and for being flexible with our dates.
Ian and Carol gave us a lovely welcome. Great little cottage. Lovely and cosy. Beds comfortable. Peace and quiet. Great days out with plenty to see and do
All the things that you take for granted but are often not provided, kitchen roll, foil, cling film, tea towel, dishwashing stuff etc, were all there and the cottage was very comfortable, with everything you could want or need.
Thank you for making us so welcome in this lovely cottage. We will be returning in Oct/Nov this year! We spent some peaceful evenings in the garden listening to the birds, cows and sheep with a glass of wine or two. It is rare to find a place that genuinely feels so loved. We hope anyone who stays here enjoys the experience as much as us.
Thank you for a wonderful few days. This is such a peaceful place and you get to call it home! We have enjoyed exploring the area from our ‘home base’: it is so beautiful! Thank you for your hospitality. Blessings to you and all who stay at Tregynon.
The owners were helpful and knowledgeable about the area but not intrusive. The heating system was good. All the appliances were simple to use and worked well. The bara brith on arrival was a nice touch-as was some essentials-cling film, milk etc I have no complaints-just praise. A beautiful, peaceful location and we had good weather.
We absolutely ‘get it’ and have had a wonderful two weeks – thank you for sharing this gem with us. See you both again in October.
The cottage is perfect: so comfortable and lacking in nothing. You both made us feel so welcome, thank you so much for that. We’ll be back – one day!.
Thank you so much for having us and making out trip to Wales so enjoyable. The cottage is so cosy, clean and comfortable – you have done an amazing job with the place. We will 100% be visiting again soon!
Thanks Ian and Carol for your perfect hospitality. The cottages are absolutely beautiful and suit the wonderful landscape so well. Until the next time.
Great cottage and amazing setting. Loads to do in the area and Ian and Carol were really well informed about local activities and events. We’ll certainly be back on our next trip to the UK.
Great cottage and really comfortable furniture – a rarity in self catering in our experience!! Thank you for making us so welcome.
Fantastic cottage in rural location. Great facilities. Ian and Carol made us feel very welcome. Highly recommended.
The peaceful location. The cottages are comfortable and warm. Loved every minute.
Attractive, well presented in every detail – even provided cling-film! Owners informative and helpful. Yes, it is off the beaten track, but its ideal for the walking brigade.
A lovely cottage and a very warm welcome from Ian and Carol.
Warm welcome by the owners, nothing was too much trouble. The maps and guides provided were invaluable. The owner explained on the maps, local places of interest, walks etc. which was very useful. The kitchen was rather small, but manageable.
Delightful cottage with caring hosts in a truly wonderful setting. Its peaceful and quiet and yet within easy access of towns and beaches. There is no reception for our mobiles but wifi and internet were available. Otherwise we couldn’t have asked for more.
The owners were very friendly ,very helpful. The property is well laid out and comfortable to stay in.
Thank you very much for a lovely stay. We enjoyed the cottage and found all its facilities excellent. We thought that you were both very friendly and helpful, in particular providing great advice for the local area. Wishing you all the best in your future business.
The cottage was very well presented and perfectly suited to our needs as a family with 2 small children. It is also very well situated in a very peaceful rural location but only a few miles from town and beaches. The owners were really friendly and helpful and on hand to answer any questions we had, with helpful suggestions about where to go and providing us with maps and directions. We would definitely recommend the cottage to family and friends and would stay here again ourselves. There was nothing we didn’t like.
The Foxglove cottage was very comfortable, it felt like home! Ian and Carol have done a fabulous job with the cottage and made us feel very welcome. They were also extremely helpful, especially in giving us ideas for several great walks, which we did. We can’t recommend Tregynon Cottages highly enough! Thanks Ian and Carol.
We cannot believe how lucky we were to find this little slice of heaven! A warm welcome, thoughtfully designed cottages with everything one might possibly need – and beautifully done. The maps and hiking advice was greatly appreciated – and every day was a great success. Many, many thanks for all you have done and we hope to be back soon!
Very much enjoyed our week here. Best wishes.
The owners were really friendly and welcoming, they could have done no more to help us in getting settled and helping us with ideas what to do in the area. The cottage was perfect and the location was idyllic. The whole family enjoyed our stay. A permanent outside seat would have been lovely to sit and watch the animals and the world go slowly by as the children had a run around. The girls say Hello to ‘Charlie’ the bull and all his ladies and the sheep! Not sure when, but we will definitely venture back to visit again.
Everything was as we expected and hoped. We had a very comfortable week and lacked for nothing. And we did appreciate the heating being on even in mid-July! Thank you both for being such warm and welcoming hosts. Many good wishes for the future.
Fantastic hosts who could not have done more. Cottage lovely in a peaceful location with fabulous views from every window, and surrounded by wildlife and walks from the door. Friendly area with so many beautiful places to visit. Didn’t want to leave.
Lovely location, the cottage was very comfortable and the owners very helpful.
A beautifully furnished and well looked after property. The owners Ian and Carol were on-site to help with any needs from maps to suggestions for walks, visits and restaurants! but they were never intrusive, a lovely couple. A wonderful location up on the hills but near enough to the coast for beaches. We will come again. Thank you.
The cottage was a very good standard and it’s position was ideal for visiting North Pembrokeshire.
We really enjoyed our week with you, it was a very comfortable cottage, well appointed, and you were both very helpful. We are happy to recommend and hope to return at some point. Hope you have a good season.
Thank you for enabling us to have such a relaxing break in such a beautiful part of the world! The cottage was so warm, clean and comfortable. It was great to be able to explore the surrounding countryside without having to drive as well as being a short driving distance to incredible coastal walks and historical sites. We appreciated you taking the time to help us choose suitable walks and for giving us excellent recommendations for places to visit.
The cottage was situated in the most beautiful part of the country and was well decorated and furnished. The best part of the stay was the way the owners greeted us and were available for the whole stay to give welcome advice on the places to see and directions to get there. We enjoyed our stay in Foxglove and would like to say it was one of the best cottages we’ve stayed at.
Excellent base for Preseli hills, within walking distance of pub and local hotel, standard of accommodation was excellent, good range of facilities, nicely decorated and furnished throughout. Liked the woodland walk to “Bessies” and being close to Newport is advantageous. Good hosts! We will certainly come back for a return visit.
The cottage was perfect for what we wanted: a lovely location and it was easy to travel to the various places we wanted to visit. The hosts, Ian and Carol, were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I would certainly recommend to friends and family.
We had a wonderful time at the cottage. Your guidance and warmth was icing on the cake.
My Husband and I have just spent a weekend in the Foxglove cottage and have to say it is absolutely stunning. When we arrived we were greeted by Ian and Carol, who are a great couple. The cottage was really exceptional, and we found we were greeted with tea, coffee, sugar, milk and Welsh cakes. The difference here was the bed made up ready for our arrival, en-suite bathroom, towels supplied …. all pots pans and bowls for cooking. The cottages are joined onto a farm, and what a wonderful place for a walking holiday. Everyone should try these out for a great experience and ideal quiet location with well-maintained buildings at a reasonable price. I hope Ian and Carol all the best for the future. Well done both.
The cottages were spacious, clean and well equipped, set in beautiful countryside surroundings and we couldn’t have asked for more. The cost was just unbelievable, to say it was reasonable doesn’t do it justice at all, I’d have happily paid double what we were charged. Ian and Carol literally couldn’t do enough for you, they were the perfect hosts and went way above and beyond our expectations in terms of hospitality and customer service. A more attentive, friendly couple, you will never meet!
Loved the cottages and the Gwaun Valley is gorgeous. The hospitality was spot on and you really made us feel welcome. We know you’ll make a great show of this business. We’ll certainly be back and thanks again.
We had a fabulous time with you both in your amazing home. We loved every minute of being with you and exploring the beautiful welsh mountains and coast. The places you introduced us to for eating, drinking (the sawdust pub) and visiting (the industrial archaeology and port) were brilliant! Anyone can see why you wish to live in such a peaceful, historical and interesting part of Britain. Everything was so welcoming and comfortable, thank you. You have worked so hard to provide wonderful accommodation which will make anyone who stays with you feel special, right down to the hobnobs and malteeser chocolates on the pillows.
We had a fantastic time during our stay at Tregynon Cottages. The scenery is stunning, we loved the quiet, remote and peaceful location. We’re a young family, and decided to take our 1 year old son and our bikes away for the trip. We’re very happy we did both. The cottages are very child friendly and accommodating. There are some great cycling (and walking) trails too if you enjoy getting out on your bikes, not to mention great beaches and days out close by. We would really recommend it, and would definitely return!!
On a recent holiday in Pembrokeshire, my wife and I visited a new complex designed primarily as a walking holiday resort. Situated up in the hills just off Newport, breath taking scenery. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the accommodation and the information concerning local walks, also the helpfulness of the proprietor. Even more importantly was the standard of the accommodation. There were two, two bedroom self contained cottages which are extremely well furnished, each containing a well designed lounge, with TV, comfortable furniture and a delightful dining area, with well equipped kitchen, full en-suite facilities, each bedroom has adequate storage space with very comfortable beds, which are essential for this type of holiday. We are both looking forward to our next visit.
What a great weekend we had with Ian and Carol. Despite the weather we had a great adventure both days and nothing was too much trouble for them. They looked after us so well and made us feel really special. Good luck in your new venture and if you look after all your guests like you looked after us then they are guaranteed a great holiday. Keep up the good work.
